For this week's scholarly article, I chose this article. It is a list of tips to follow when writing children's stories. I really liked this because it was very concise and to the point, but it was also very helpful. It hit on some of the more common pitfalls that beginning authors fall into such as flashbacks, involving too many characters, or involving multiple plots. This article would be great for anyone to read who is interested in writing books for children. I plan to pull it up next time I sit down to write a story and multiple times throughout the process. The article is missing an essential piece in my opinion. I wish it included tips about publishing. This is the part that has caused me to trip the most and has made it so I am having trouble continuing with the process. Hopefully this article makes my stories stronger so that I feel a publishing house would take them on though.

I consider myself a Renaissance Woman because I have many talents but no particular mastery. One of these fields of interest is online education. This website is where I showcase the work that was completed in the eLearning Design and Implementation MA program offered through the University of Colorado Denver. Enjoy! |
